“The edge of the sea is a strange and beautiful place.”
Rachel Carson

our philosophy

Here in the low season, things are slow and intentional. Every choice we make reflects our commitment to sustainability and devotion to the natural world.

Inspired by the coast during the low season, when there’s a slight chill in the air and the beaches are nearly empty but the water is still warm enough to swim. When everything is a little bit calmer, a little bit quieter, and there's plenty of open seats at the coffee shop.

We are 100% vegan and cruelty-free, certified by Leaping Bunny and PETA approved. We use compostable, recyclable and FSC paper packaging and limit plastic wherever possible. While we are far from perfect, we prioritize the environment and the creatures we share it with in everything we do. We are always striving for a better future.

For us, the low season is a mantra. It's a reminder to slow down and take a deep breath. We hope it can be that for you too.

about us

Jess Bugg's background spans nature-culture-sustainability studies, visual communication, and a body of written work exploring the relationship between people and the environment. She lives in Midcoast Maine and is most at home in the low season.

Kate Faulk was raised barefoot on a small farm in South Louisiana, her relationship with the natural world has always been tactile and devoted. That early wonder led her to the study of herbalism and natural perfumery; disciplines she has spent years refining. She lives in Austin, Texas, where her studies of plant, scent, and season are always ongoing.
