Sea Fennel grows spontaneously along the seaside cliffs and rocky beaches of Southern and Western Europe, North America, Central and Western Asia. It is one of the few species that can survive and adapt in an environment exposed to continuous saltwater, harsh weather and a changing climate.

Irish Sea Moss is an abundant red algae found in the North Atlantic. It is more heat tolerant than other cold-water seaweeds and can withstand strong currents. It grows throughout the year and is both a refuge and important food source for marine life. As with other macroalgae, Irish Moss absorbs carbon dioxide which helps reduce global carbon levels and ocean acidification.
